TIPI FAQ

It is first important to have an estimate of total attending guests. Will all attendees need a place to sit? Please also consider anything else that will need space under the Tipi’s canvas: Bars, Dance floor, DJ, Lounge, Food Service Station, Dessert, Wedding Cake, Gift Table, etc.

Lux requires a 50% non-refundable deposit. Once the deposit is received, the contracted number of Tipis will be reserved for the contracted date.

Most events are scheduled months, even years in advance and Tipi availability is very limited.

Clients are encouraged to book as soon as they can. There is no limit to how far in advance someone can book.

A “rental” period is based on a complete setup of 12 hours. Please keep in mind, Tipi installation must be completed prior to other vendors having access to the installation area.

Each Tipi on average will take approximately three to four hours to set up. We understand other venders can only start after the Tipis are built. Access to the installation site must be accessible one day prior to your event.

Tipi installation and removal is included in your rental price. If an early installation is required or a longer rental period is needed, additional fees will apply.

With all of the sides down, each large Tipi is approximately thirty-three feet in diameter. Each Tipi stands approximately twenty-four feet tall. When the Tipis are linked together, the length and width of the canvas covered area changes drastically. Please refer to our Lux Tipi Floor Plan Page for more approximate dimensions.

All wood burning fires must be at least one hundred feet from the installation site and clear of any smoke or ash. We highly discourage the use of a wood burning fire because wind direction can change without notice and Lux Tipi is not reliable for any damages caused by a fire.

Our Tipis are NFPA 701 fire-retardant certified. But due to insurance and the characteristics of the canvas, fires are restricted to propane fires only. Only propane fire pits rented through Lux Tipi are permitted.

We do not allow any type of smoking under the canvas, or within 20 feet of our Tipis.

Once everything is set up and ready to go, we will do a final walkthrough with the renter. A Lux Tipi installer can remain on site during the event for an additional fee. This is sometimes beneficial if weather looks to become an issue. Tipis’ sides may need to be lowered or raised due to excessive precipitation and wind.

Flooring rental is not required. Some people prefer to have the grass exposed.

Our flooring is a high-end black and gray woven waterproof fiber designed specifically for this type of application.

We do not provide a venue for your Tipi rental, but we would be glad to share with you our list of amazing places we have been.

Our 4×4 truck and twenty-eight-foot enclosed trailer must have access to the installation site. Additional fees will apply if trailer and truck access is restricted. Your venue should consist of level ground. Try to avoid low lying areas and places where water can accumulate. It is the client’s responsibility to also ensure that there are no underground utilities, septic tanks, sprinkler systems, cable lines, phone lines, gas lines, drainage lines or anything else that could be damaged by the weight of our truck, trailer, or insertion of stakes into the ground. Access to restrooms and utilities should also be considered.

Yes, because the Tipis are a self-supporting structure.

Yes. They look really cool at trade shows and in large convention centers!

Yes. As long as the ground is level and the location of the Tipis will not be affected by rising tides.

This will vary depending on the chosen floor plan. Each Tipi requires an unobstructed space of sixty square feet for installation. Please refer to the floor plan page for more information.

As long as the slope does not increase or decrease by more than two degrees every thirty feet. We recommend a flat installation site.

Our Tipi rental fees are straight forward with no hidden costs. Prior to making a deposit, clients will be provided a detailed invoice outlining the rented items and cost of delivery. Any additional fees that could incur are clearly outlined in the LUX TIPI RENTAL AGREEMENT issued prior to deposit. Additional fees are rarely assessed, and we will never charge a client without their consent.

Yes, we require a fifty percent non-refundable deposit for Tipi rental.

The remaining balance must be paid at least thirty-days prior to the event’s scheduled delivery date.

Tipi deposits are non-refundable. If a cancellation is made after the full payment is received and you are not within fourteen days of the delivery/set-up date, fifty percent of the full payment will be returned. No refunds will be given if cancellation occurs on, or within fourteen days from the scheduled delivery/set-up date.

Additional Tipis and accessories can be added at any time but are subject to availability. Reserved items no longer needed will not be refunded or subtracted from the initial contracted agreement.

We do not require a damage waiver.

Our Tipi installers will travel anywhere within the continental United States that our truck and trailer can access, but in some cases, it might be more beneficial to refer you to another Nordic Tipi supplier.

Delivery cost is calculated by a flat per-mile fee times the total number of round-trip miles to and from zip code 32312.

Lux Tipis are designed to repel precipitation, so canvas covered guests stay safe and dry.

For Tipi installation and removal; wind must be minimal do to the large sail like canvas. Once installed, thanks to design and structural engineers, our large Tipis are built to withstand up to sixty mile-per-hour winds.

Yes, but please provide hot chocolate for the Lux crew.

Inside temperatures will depend on multiple exterior factors. Please consider the outside temperature, exposure to sun, amount of humidity, etc. Each Tipi is equipped with an in-tent vent located at the top of the Tipi that can be opened or closed at any time. This allows for better air circulation and for heat to easily exit the tent.

Lux Tipi is fully insured.

We do not provide clients with insurance. It is highly recommended that clients obtain special event insurance to cover any damage that may happen to rented items.

We highly recommend it! Lux Tipis are very expensive and so is the cost of replacement.

Lux Tipi offers multiple bistro lighting packages, DJ lights, Flooring, and an awesome-sounding Bose F1 PA and subs. The four-thousand watt sound system is designed to keep your guests dancing and entertained all night.

Currently, we do not have heaters or air conditioning units for rent. Please be sure to check with us prior to renting a unit to ensure compatibility.

For an additional rental fee, an 8000-watt Generac generator can be provided. Our generator is capable of powering all items rented from Lux. Please note, although our generator is not extremely loud, it is not a silent generator.
